Mythology Meme -> Lovers -> Antigone & Haemon

Antigone was the daughter of Oedipus and the fiancée of Haemon, son of Creon. After Creon refused to give Antigone’s brother, Polynices, a proper funeral, she broke the law to bury him. Antigone was caught and sentenced by Creon to be locked in a cave, despite Haemon’s protests. Antigone’s death caused Haemon to kill himself out of grief for the lost of his beloved.
